• SDA's competition team rehearses all year and competes in Wisconsin during the winter and spring months
• Competition team is for dancers that want to push themselves a bit harder and compete against dancers from other areas
• Competition team is a lot of fun, but a very serious commitment

• Dancers must be at least 5 years old

What are the costs for competition team?

• Monthly tuition fee for Competition classes

  • Participating on one competition team: $90 per month
  • Unlimited Competition teams: $125 per month

  Class fees are due on the first day of each month, October through May.
• Competition Entry Fees:Competition Group entry fees are charged per dancer by the competition companies.   Entry fees vary by competition, but average between $30-$40 per dancer per group.  Solo and duet entry fees average between $60-$90.
• Costumes:Costume fees are charged individually per costume this year.   You will be invoiced after they are picked out and ordered and can be paid in full or in several installments over the school year.  Costume prices vary based on the complexity of the costume.   Average cost of costume will be $65-$75 unless it’s more detailed and extravagant.
• Accessories:Some costumes require extra accessories (rhinestone tights, wigs, jewelry, etc.).  The average cost for these will be $10-$25. 
• Shoes:You are required to get the appropriate shoe for the team you are on.  For example: hip hop team- hip hop sneaker, jazz team- slip-on jazz shoe, lyrical team- lyrical footy, etc.) Note: If you are on a jazz team and your performance tights are tan, you will need tan jazz shoes.  If your tights are black fishnets, you will need black jazz shoes.  Average jazz shoe cost is $25-$30.  **We received many comments last season from judges, suggesting this change of attire so leg lines would be seen better.
• **Competition Team Apparel Package (New members only):All new team members are required to purchase a competition team apparel package which consists of a warm up, dance bag, water bottle, and convention attire. This is a onetime cost. If you out grow one of these they can be purchased separately. Cost for package: $200.All NEW team members are required to purchase a competition team apparel package which consists of a warm up, dance bag, watter bottle, and convention attire.  This is a one time cost, as we plan on staying with the same styles for as long as it is available to us! If you out grow one of these items they can be purchased seperately.
• We will attend 3 competitions (not including Nationals)
• Convention costs will vary based on the convention we choose to attend.
• We will have team fundraisers to help with the cost of doing competition team.

To be a competition team member you must follow these requirements:

• Must be enrolled in a ballet class or ballet technique class summer and school year session.
• Competition classes will take place during the 2011 summer session AND 2011-2012 school year session. Dancers are required to dance during both sessions.
• Regular attendance is required, as we will constantly be working on technique and choreography. If regular attendace is not followed, you will not be permitted to compete.
• All team members must attend convention
• All team members must be a part of the fall Dance Xtreme program (This is included in your competition fee)
